College Fees 2009

We understand that providing a good education for your daughter/young person
in your care often entails sacrifices for parents and we try at all times to balance
the need to keep charges manageable whilst, at the same time, providing the quality
of educational opportunities necessary for Bethlehem to continue to be a
school of excellence.

Fees for 2009 are as follows:

On the basis of the Tuition Fees being charged in the first three terms, the term rate will be as follows:

Families who already have three children attending Catholic Systemic Schools will not be charged school tuition fees at Parochial Primary or Regional Schools for their fourth and subsequent children.

The Archdiocesan Tuition Fees will continue to provide student accident insurance cover through Catholic Church Insurances Limited. This 24-hour cover is for school activities during school hours and other approved school activities outside school hours such as school camps, school sports, work placement and travelling to and from school.

LEVIES - 2009

Building Fund Levy
This is necessary to cover the College’s required servicing of Loan Repayments and to provide upgrading of existing building facilities. The Building Fund Levy will be $369.00 per annum or $123.00 per family for each of Terms 1, 2 and 3. Families with children attending more than one Parish Primary or Regional School in the Archdiocese of Sydney will be billed on a pro rata basis.

Technology Levy
A Technology Levy of $54.00 per student will be charged for each of Terms 1, 2 and 3. (This is in response to the greater need for on-line information as well as the need to create a wireless network system throughout the College.

Sports / Activity Fees: Years 7 - 10
Years 7 - 10 students will continue to have a compulsory sports afternoon every Thursday in 2009. Each term, students will pay for a programme of sport at either an external location or on the school premises. The Sport Fee will be $100.00 per term. This is an essential part of the school curriculum. Those who fail to pay will be required to perform alternative duties on sports afternoons. Sport is a compulsory component of a students curriculum in Years 7 – 10.

Fundraising/Parent Levy
Fundraising contribution of $20.00 for each of Terms 1, 2 and 3.

RE Fee
The RE fee of $26.00 per student will be charged in Term 1 only.
All levies are included in the School Fee Accounts issued in Terms 1, 2 and 3.

Student Service Fee
A fee of $135.00 per student per term is payable.

Consumables and resources for experiments and photocopying costs for booklets

Food Technology

Basic staple food items such as flour, sugar and eggs

Photography

Two black and white films and photographic paper for wet photography units and digital imaging

Textiles Technology in Years 9 - 12

Some consumables such as fabric samples, thread, pins and needles

Visual Arts

Visual Arts Process Diary and some consumables such as printing inks, lino, pastels, clay and art paper and excludes items for individual body of works

Technology in Years 7 & 8

Fee covers some consumables such as thread, fabric samples, some food items, some jewellery findings and design folio workbook

Hospitality

Fee contributes to costs of in-class practical tasks including food consumables

Excursions
The amount for excursions will be calculated according to the relevant subjects studied by each student and will be billed in advance each term. The College has made a commitment to reduce the number of excursions from previous years. This reduction in excursions is a result of careful planning and offering cross-curriculum excursions in all year groups.

Student Resource Fee

Years 7 – 10: Student Resource Fee $165 per annum payable by Friday 30th January 2009. This fee contributes towards the cost of providing students with text books (book hire system) and class sets of books, notes, CDRom, software resources and other information. Please note that the cost of purchasing textbooks is approximately $700 per year group. Therefore our book hire system is a significant saving for parents costing families only $165.00.

Years 11-12: Parents purchase textbooks, but there are still a number of photocopied resources issued to students. Therefore in Years 11 and 12 a student resource fee of $30 per annum is payable.
